Excellence Awards

I’ve been advised that the Excellence Awards recipients will be announced by the end of the week. These awards will be retroactive to July 1, 2011 for ASP and to September 1, 2011 for the other employee groups. Congrats to all.

There is one more round of excellence awards to go and we’ll be caught up after those long years of negotiations. The call for this next round should occur before spring break so watch your email. The recipients of the next round of awards will have their salaries adjusted in July 1, 2012 or September 1, 2012.

Gordon Lamb, former NEIU President dies

COLUMBIA, Mo. – A man who led Northeastern Illinois University in Chicago for nearly a decade and served as an interim chancellor of the University of Missouri system and other intuitions has died.

Current University of Missouri interim President Steve Owens released a statement Thursday night announcing that Gordon Lamb died Monday. He was 77.

System spokeswoman Jennifer Hollingshead said in an email that she didn’t know where he died or his cause of death.
